In dieser Studie wird ein Rattenmodell zur Induktion von Parodontitis durch eine Kombination aus remanenter Ligatur und wiederholten Injektionen von Lipopolysaccharid aus Porphyromonas gingivalis über 14 Tage um die ersten Oberkiefermolaren herum vorgestellt. Die Ligatur- und LPS-Injektionstechniken waren wirksam bei der Induktion einer Peridontitis, die zu einem Verlust und einer Entzündung des alveolären Knochens führte.
