We beschrijven een immunofluorescentie en kwantitatieve PCR-methode voor de lokalisatie en kwantificering van begomovirussen in insectenweefsels. Het immunofluorescentieprotocol kan worden gebruikt om virale en vectoreiwitten samen te lokaliseren. Het kwantitatieve PCR-protocol kan worden uitgebreid om virussen in hele wittevlieglichamen en met virussen geïnfecteerde planten te kwantificeren.
