Ons doel was om een reproduceerbare protocol voor het isoleren en onderhouden van lange termijn culturen van menselijke fungiform smaak papillen cellen te ontwikkelen. Cellen uit menselijk fungiform papillen, verkregen uit biopsie werden met succes gehandhaafd in cultuur voor meer dan acht passages (12 maanden) zonder verlies van levensvatbaarheid.
