De<em> Drosophila</em> Retina is een kristalachtige rooster uit een klein aantal celtypen die worden gegenereerd in een stereotiepe wijze<sup> 1</sup>. De ontvankelijkheid voor geavanceerde genetische analyse maakt het mogelijk de studie van complexe ontwikkelingsprogramma's. Dit protocol beschrijft dissecties en immunohistochemie van het netvlies in drie afzonderlijke ontwikkelingsstadia, met een focus op fotoreceptor differentiatie.
