Wir präsentieren ein Protokoll zur elektrophysiologischen Charakterisierung bistabiler Photopigmente: (i) Ausnutzung der Ladungsverschiebungen innerhalb der Photopigmentmoleküle nach Photonenabsorption und ihrer riesigen Menge in den Photorezeptoren und (ii) Ausnutzung der Absorptionsspektrenunterschiede von Rhodopsin- und Metarhodopsin-Photopigmentzuständen.
