Este protocolo describe un método para establecer un modelo in vitro de barrera hematoencefálica humana (BHE). Las células endoteliales y los pericitos se siembran a cada lado de un filtro de inserción (compartimento sanguíneo), y los astrocitos se siembran en el pozo inferior (compartimento cerebral). El modelo caracterizado se utilizó para experimentos de transporte de nanopartículas.
