Här presenterar vi ett protokoll för att etablera en ny råttmodell av aktiv HIV-infektion med hjälp av chimerisk HIV (EcoHIV), vilket är avgörande för att öka vår förståelse av HIV-1-virusreservoarer i hjärnan och erbjuda ett system för att studera HIV-associerade neurokognitiva störningar och tillhörande komorbiditet (dvs. drogmissbruk).
