Denne protokol beskriver en in vitro batch-kultur fermenterings system af humant fækal mikrobiota, ved hjælp af inulin (en velkendt prebiotiske og en af de mest udbredte studerede mikrobiota modulatorer) at demonstrere brugen af dette system til at anslå virkningerne af specifikke interventioner på fækal mikrobiota sammensætning og metaboliske aktiviteter.
