Entamoeba histolytica insan enfeksiyon amebiazisli, tropikal ülkelerde ishal önemli bir nedeni yol açar. Enfeksiyon, hücre-hücre kontaktların açılmasına ve dolayısıyla ishal, bazen karaciğer enfeksiyonu tarafından takip edilen tahrik, intestinal epitel hücreleri ile patojenik etkileşimleri ile başlatılır. Bu makale Amebiazis patogenezinde anlayışımızı geliştirmek için erken konak-patojen değerlendirmek için bir model sunar.
