Een progressieve kolonisatie procedure wordt beschreven om nader te beoordelen de impact ervan op de host levermetabolisme. Colonization is gecontroleerd non invasief door het evalueren van de urinaire excretie van microbiële metabolieten door co-NMR-based metabool profiel, terwijl levermetabolisme wordt beoordeeld door de hoge resolutie Magic Angle Spinning (HR MAS) NMR profilering van intact biopsie.
