Een methode om te visualiseren en te kwantificeren F-actine weerhaken eindigt in neuronale groei kegels wordt beschreven. Na het kweken neuronen op glas dekglaasjes worden cellen gepermeabiliseerd met een saponine-bevattende oplossing. Dan, een korte incubatie met de saponine buffer met rhodamine-actine bevat fluorescerende actine op gratis actine prikkeldraad eindigt.
