Phospholipid fedtsyrer giver oplysninger om strukturen af jordens mikrobielle samfund. Vi præsenterer fremgangsmåder til ekstraktion fra jordprøver med en enfaset chloroform-blanding, fraktionering af ekstraherede lipider ved anvendelse af fastfase ekstraktionskolonner, og methanolyse for at fremstille fedtsyremethylestere, som analyseres ved kapillær gaschromatografi.
