Zebrafish (Danio rerio) worden een veel gebruikte gewervelde diermodel voor microbiële kolonisatie en de pathogenese. Dit protocol beschrijft het gebruik van de protozoan Paramecium caudatum als een voertuig voor voedsel overgedragen infectie in zebrafish larven. P. caudatum gemakkelijk internaliseert bacteriën en krijgen overgenomen door larvale zebrafish via natuurlijke azen gedrag.
