Het algemene doel van Polysoom profiling techniek is analyse van translationeel activiteiten van individuele mRNAs of transcriptome mRNAs tijdens de eiwitsynthese. De methode is belangrijk voor de studie van eiwit synthese verordening, vertaling activering en onderdrukking in gezondheid en meerdere ziekten bij de mens.
