Dit protocol beschrijft een confocale beeldvormingstechniek om drie fusiemodi in boviene bijnierchromaffinecellen te detecteren. Deze fusiemodi omvatten 1) close-fusion (ook wel kiss-and-run genoemd), waarbij fusieporiën worden geopend en gesloten, 2) stay-fusion, waarbij fusieporie wordt geopend en de geopende porie wordt gehandhaafd, en 3) krimpfusie, waarbij gesmolten blaasjeskrimp betrokken zijn.
