הזיהום של Caenorhabditis elegans על ידי הטפיל המיקרוספורידי Nematocida parisii מאפשר לתולעים לייצר צאצאים שעמידים מאוד לאותו פתוגן. זוהי דוגמה לחסינות תורשתית, תופעה אפיגנטית לא מובנת היטב. הפרוטוקול הנוכחי מתאר את המחקר של חסינות תורשתית במודל תולעת הניתנת למתיחה גנטית.
