Bir laboratuvar ölçekli dikey akış yoluyla sütununda bir Prekambriyen demirli deniz upwelling sistemini simüle. Amaç O 2 ve Fe (II) ve nasıl jeokimyasal profillerini anlamaya siyanobakteriler üretmek O 2 olarak gelişmeye oldu. Sonuçlar, fotosentetik üretilen O 2, Fe (II) oksitlenmeye karşı Kemoklin kurulmasını göstermektedir.
