In this video, we demonstrate the isolation and culture of bone marrow stromal cells from the long bones of mice. The isolated adherent BMSCs can be used for further analysis.
All procedures involving animal models have been reviewed by the local institutional animal care committee and the JoVE veterinary review board.
1. Harvest of Bones from Mice
2. Cell Suspension
3. Plating and Culture of Mixed Populations of Bone Marrow Cells (Total BMCs)
NOTE: Cells are cultured at 37 °C in an incubator with 5% CO2.
4. Plating and Culture of the Split Population of BMSCs (Adherent BMSCs)
NOTE: Cells are cultured at 37 °C in an incubator with 5% CO2.
