Single-fiber opptak er en effektiv elektrofysiologisk teknikk som gjelder for den sentrale og perifere nervesystemet. Sammen med utarbeidelse av intakt DRG med vedlagte ischias nerven, er mekanismen for Lednings svikt undersøkt. Begge protokollene forbedre forståelsen av perifere nervesystemet forhold til smerte.
