We presenteren een handige solid-phase extraction gekoppeld aan hogedruk-vloeistofchromatografie (HPLC) met elektrochemische detectie (ECD) voor gelijktijdige bepaling van drie monoamino neurotransmitters en twee van hun metabolieten in de urine van zuigelingen. Wij identificeren ook de metaboliet MHPG als een potentiële biomarker voor de vroege diagnose van hersenschade voor zuigelingen.
