Dit orthotopisch model van menselijke prostaatkanker maakt kwantificering van tumorgrootte circulerende tumorcellen en de vorming van verschillende metastase naar de longen. Omdat de cellen van het belangrijkste orgaan moet ontsnappen, in de bloedsomloop, en implantaat in een tweede locatie, dit model effectief recapituleert het scenario bij de mens.
