Hos dyr med store identificerede neuroner (<em> F.eks</em> Bløddyr), er analysen af motoriske puljer gøres ved hjælp intracellulære teknikker<sup> 1,2,3,4</sup>. For nylig har vi udviklet en teknik til ekstracellulært stimulere og registrere individuelle neuroner i<em> Aplysia californica</em<sup> 5</sup>. Vi beskriver nu en protokol til at bruge denne teknik til entydigt at identificere og karakterisere motorneuroner i en motor pool.
