Knochenmarktransplantation bietet eine Möglichkeit, um den Genotyp der Knochenmark stammende Zellen zu ändern. Wenn das Gen von Interesse an beiden Knochenmark stammende Zellen und nicht-Knochenmark stammende Zellen exprimiert wird, kann die Knochenmarktransplantation Knochenmark stammende Zellen zu einem anderen Genotyp ändern, ohne die nicht-Knochenmark stammende Zellen Genotyp.
