树突形态发生是神经科学的核心主题,因为树突树的结构会影响神经元突触整合的计算特性1,2,3。此外,树突状支的形态异常和修饰与退行性和神经发育障碍有关4,5,6。在树突状分支更容易可视化的神经元培养物中,非姐妹树突状分支之间的相互作用调节沿分支突触聚集的部位和程度,这种行为可能会影响突触共性和可塑性7,8,9。因此,使用二维(2D)神经元培养物表征树突状树的形态参数有利于了解树突形态发生和单个神经元和神经网络的功能。然而,这是一项具有挑战性的任务,因为即使在”简化”的2D神经元培养物中,树突状分支也会形成复杂的网格。
