Jasmeet graduated with a specialization in Biochemistry from Mithibai College, Mumbai, and pursued a Master’s in Biological Sciences from NMIMS’s School of Science, Mumbai. During her master’s program, Jasmeet’s research interests included core biochemistry, analytical techniques in biology, and biomaterials. For her thesis, during her master’s research dissertation project at CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi, Jasmeet’s research focused on the anti-inflammatory effect of a particular plant extract ‘X’ on secondary synovial sarcoma cell lines and how it might help identify a new potential therapeutic pathway against inflammation of the cells, thus serving as a ground for using proteomic techniques to identify underlying mechanisms in inflammatory diseases. Jasmeet joined JoVE after her master’s program with a keen interest in Science Communication, and she has been associated with us since July 2020. As a Science Editor at JoVE, she hopes to bridge the gap between scientists, industry, and academia and make sci-com comprehensive for everyone. An extrovert and known to be the event organizer, Jasmeet is the jack of all. She is a core scienti-freak personality who enjoys teaching Science to kids on the weekends. She writes English poetry, cooks famous delicacies, and is an ardent traveler, too!
