Den nuværende protokol beskriver undersøgelsen af neutrofil-biofilminteraktioner. Staphylococcus aureus biofilm etableres in vitro og inkuberes med perifere blodafledte humane neutrofiler. Det oxidative burstrespons fra neutrofiler kvantificeres, og neutrofillokaliseringen i biofilmen bestemmes ved mikroskopi.
