This video demonstrates the surgical procedure to locate and dissect the infrarenal aorta from the surrounding tissues for accessing it. The exposed aorta can be used for further studies.

Protocol

All procedures involving animal models have been reviewed by the local institutional animal care committee and the JoVE veterinary review board. 1. Surgical technique Perform sterilization of the surgical area using sterile gauze, povidone-iodine and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Drape the pig in the usual sterile fashion.
