Denne studien rapporterer en ny tilnærming til å måle flere mitokondrielle funksjonelle parametere basert på flowcytometri og dobbeltfarging med to fluorescerende reportere eller antistoffer for å oppdage endringer i mitokondrielt volum, mitokondrielt membranpotensial, reaktivt oksygenartsnivå, mitokondriell respiratorisk kjedesammensetning og mitokondrielt DNA.
