Detta protokoll ger en tillförlitlig metod för att etablera humaniserade möss med både människans immunsystem och leverceller. Dubbla, rekonstituerade, immunotillräckliga möss som erhålls via intrasplenic injektion av humana hepatocyter och CD34+ hematopoietiska stamceller är mottagliga för humant immunbristvirus-1 infektion och recapitulate leverskada som observerats i HIV-infekterade patienter.
