Swathi Kesh, Ph.D. Swathi graduated from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, India with a Ph.D. in Life Science. Her work was supported by the INSPIRE Fellowship awarded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. For her thesis, she established a novel model of juvenile Parkinson’s using zebrafish larvae and assessed the effects of selected natural compounds in alleviating Parkinsonism-related symptoms at the cellular, molecular, and phenotypic levels. She developed a keen interest in scientific communication while working on her own publications which led to her pursuing a career as a Scientific Editor after her graduation, wherein she has helped publish over 500 manuscripts. She believes that access to approachable and accessible scientific communication is the first step in bridging the gaps in scientific knowledge and hopes to make science enjoyable for everyone. She also enjoys watching movies, reading fictional books, and travelling.
