Un modèle imitant le scénario clinique des brûlures et des infections est nécessaire pour faire avancer la recherche sur les brûlures. Le présent protocole démontre un modèle simple et reproductible d’infection par brûlure chez le rat, comparable à celui de l’homme. Cela facilite l’étude des brûlures et des infections après brûlure pour le développement de nouveaux traitements antibiotiques topiques.
