We presenteren een protocol om de hersenstam van volwassen muizen van de ventrale kant bloot te leggen. Door een gradiënt-brekingsindexlens met een miniatuurmicroscoop te gebruiken, kan calciumbeeldvorming worden gebruikt om de activiteit van inferieure olijfneurale somata in vivo te onderzoeken.
