Presentato qui è un protocollo per la generazione spontanea di neurosfere arricchite in cellule progenitrici neurali da neuroni placcati ad alta densità. Durante lo stesso esperimento, quando i neuroni sono placcati ad una densità inferiore, il protocollo si traduce anche in colture di neuroni ratti primari prolungati.
