De bepaling van het eiland is een relatief nieuwe, rendabele test die kan worden gebruikt voor het evalueren van de fundamentele motorische gedrag van Drosophila melanogaster. Dit manuscript wordt beschreven algoritmen voor automatische gegevensverwerking en objectieve kwantificering van eiland assay gegevens, waardoor dit een gevoelige en high-throughput uitlezing voor grote genetische of farmacologische schermen assay.
