De niet-menselijke primaat (NHP) is een ideaal model voor het bestuderen van menselijke retinale cellulaire therapieën vanwege de anatomische en genetische overeenkomsten. Dit manuscript beschrijft een methode voor submaculaire transplantatie van retinale pigmentepitheelcellen in het NHP-oog en strategieën om intraoperatieve complicaties geassocieerd met maculaire manipulatie te voorkomen.
