Ett protokoll presenteras för bestämning av biomarkörer med låg förekomst från torkade serumprover exemplifierade med biomarkören progastrinfrisättande peptid (ProGRP). Antikroppsbelagda magnetiska pärlor används för selektiv rengöring och anrikning av en proteotypisk ProGRP-peptid. Den fångade peptiden analyseras därefter med vätskekromatografi-tandemmasspektrometri.
