Et bærbart system, der er i stand til at måle steady-state visuelt fremkaldte potentialer, blev udviklet og testet på 65 amatørrugbyspillere over 18 uger for at undersøge SSVEP som en potentiel elektrofysiologisk biomarkør for hjernerystelse. Spillernes baselines blev målt før sæsonen, hvor gentest for pålidelighed, hjernerystelse og restitutionsvurdering blev udført inden for henholdsvis kontrollerede tidsperioder.
