Formålet med denne metode er at bestemme CR1-tætheden i erythrocytter af ethvert forsøgsperson ved at sammenligne med tre forsøgspersoner, hvis erythrocyt CR1-tæthed er kendt. Metoden anvender flowcytometri efter immunfarvning af forsøgspersonernes erythrocytter med et anti-CR1 monoklonalt antistof koblet til et forstærket system ved hjælp af phycoerythrin (PE).
