The healthcare delivery system is a method of delivering healthcare services to people who need them. Its main goals are to offer quality care at a low cost, ensure patient satisfaction, encourage healthy behaviors, and increase access to healthcare. It has four components—services, consumers, providers, and payment plans to promote, restore, or maintain health. Services refer to the kinds of healthcare support available in the community, such as hospital services. Consumers are the people seeking healthcare, and providers are the healthcare professionals who deliver such services. Lastly, consumers often have to rely on a payment plan to cover healthcare costs. Nurses act as mediators between the healthcare system and the consumers to ensure equal access to all facets of healthcare, provide quality and safe care, and reduce costs. As the healthcare delivery system evolves due to technological advancements, ongoing research, and new patient needs, nurses must adapt to these trends and work with other healthcare professionals to ensure the proper delivery of healthcare services.
