Dit artikel beschrijft een stapsgewijs protocol om een ex vivo varkensmodel van bacteriële keratitis op te zetten. Pseudomonas aeruginosa wordt gebruikt als een prototypisch organisme. Dit innovatieve model bootst in vivo infectie na omdat bacteriële proliferatie afhankelijk is van het vermogen van de bacterie om hoornvliesweefsel te beschadigen.
