Iskemik inme sonrası yaygın karotis arter (fare) veya eksternal karotis arter (sıçan) yoluyla, enjekte çözeltileri veya süspansiyonlar için uyarlanabilir nöral kök hücreleri teslim etmek için bir yöntem bildirilmiştir. Enjekte edilen hücreler beyin parankim boyunca geniş bir şekilde dağıtılır ve doğumdan sonra 30 d'ye kadar tespit edilebilir.
