We beschrijven de detectie van NLRP3 inflammasome activering op cellulaire basis met behulp van fluorescentie microscopie en kleuring voor actieve caspase-1 en de adapter, ASC. Een lactaat dehydrogenase release assay wordt gepresenteerd voor het detecteren van lysis van de pyroptotic op basis van de bevolking. Deze technieken kunnen worden aangepast om te bestuderen van vele aspecten van inflammasome biologie.
