Her præsenterer vi en protokol til at producere permanent distal midterste cerebral arterie okklusion hos ældre hunrotter med samtidig okklusion af carotis arterierne til at generere store kortikale infarkter og vedvarende underskud. Vi viser bekræftelse af læsionens størrelse under anvendelse strukturel MRI ved 24 timer og 8 uger efter slagtilfælde.
