Intraspinal injectie van recombinase afhankelijk recombinante adeno-associated virus (rAAV) kan worden gebruikt om te manipuleren alle genetisch gelabelde celtype in het ruggenmerg. Hier beschrijven we hoe transduce van neuronen in de dorsale Hoorn van het lumbale ruggenmerg. Deze techniek maakt functionele ondervraging van het subtype gemanipuleerde neuron.
